Egg and Spoon Race Game Prep & Play
a. You’ll need a spoon and egg or similar items that represents and egg for each player or team. If you are indoors, you may want to use hard boiled eggs, small potatoes or ping pong balls, if outside you can use regular eggs.

b. Define a starting line and a finish line or a second line that players much reach before they can turn around before returning to the starting line for a relay race.

c. Decide whether to play this party game as individuals or as teams for a relay race.

d. Line up kids/teams at the starting line and inform them about how to play the game.
Individual Play – An egg will be placed on each players spoon and the child must walk from the starting line to the finish line without dropping the egg or ball. The first player to cross the finish line with the egg still on the spoon wins.

Team Play – If you play teams, divide the guests into 2 or more teams. We like teams of 4 – 6 players.
Then split the teams so that half of the team is at the starting point and the other is at the finish line, if needed one child can go twice. Start with each team having one spoon and egg/ball. When the game hosts says “Go,” the first Team member starts the race by walking to where their teammates are or going around a mid-point object and returning to the start line and then giving the spoon to the next team member who goes back to the starting point this continues until all the players have completed the race. The team to complete the process first, wins.

e. Note: During the relay race, if the egg or ball is dropped then the team member can pick it up but must go back to their starting point and begin again over.

Increase Difficulty
a. Make the course long, 30 or more feet.
b. Make Egg & Spoon game more complex by making contestant walk around, under or over obstacles.
