Who’s the Murderer? Game Prep & Play
Can you discover who the murder is? This can be play at a table or in a room standing. This game is often played with the lights dimmed, you want to be able to see but it adds a spooky touch.

a. Get a deck of cards. You’ll need one to be the Murderer Card (Queen or Ace of Spades), one to be the Detective Card (10 of Hearts or Diamonds) and then one per remaining players that range from 2 – 9. So 1 murderer card, 1 detective card and general cards for everyone else.

b. Shuffle the cards and deal one to each player. Players than look at the cards to determine whether they are the Murderer, Detective or a likely victim.

c. Once the cards have been viewed then the game begins. The person who receives the Detective card flips it over so everyone knows who the detective is. The detective watches to see if they can spot the murderer.

d. As people look around the table at each other,  the Murderer tries to secretly wink at people to kill them.

e. If someone has been winked at they turn over their card and fake death and die, screaming is optional.

f. The Detective has three attempts to guess the murderer. Two attempts if just 6 players. If they do not discover who the Murderer is after the guesses, that person flips over their card. Then re-shuffle and play again.

Guess the Murderer Game Options
1. Most people play for fun and sometimes groups keep score. If the Detective guesses the Murder they get one point, if the Murderer goes uncaught they get one point. Play to the first person to get three points.

2. Some people play that everyone who is not the murderer is a detective. Therefore everyone is watching everyone and you either get killed or you see the murder committed and call out the killer. If you suspect the killer, you announce I know the killer, pause and then say the killer is “Name” if that person is the killer they flip over their card and if they are not the killer then you flip over your card and are out of the game.
