Mother Goose Trivia Game
Supplies: Mother Goose nursery book for reference to get questions, pen and paper

Memory test, most of us knew Nursery Rhymes when we were younger, but how well do we remember them. Create a sheet with 12 to 20 questions concerning favorite nursery rhymes and leave a space for answers or provide multiple choice answers. If you do not own a Mother Goose book, I suggest that you visit the library and check out a copy of one. A fun game for Baby Showers and 1st Birthday parties.

Mother Goose Trivia Game Prep & Play
a. This can be an ice breaker, played during the shower or tied into building a library for the new baby.

b. Create 12 – 20 questions pertaining to Mother Goose and place on a game sheet.

c. During the shower hand out the game sheet and ask everyone to answer the questions to the best of their ability. Guests will have 4 minutes to complete their game sheet.

FYI – At 4 minutes ask if anyone has completed the sheet and if no one has, give your guests another minute to answer as many as they can.

d. Once time is up, it is time to go over the answers and score the Mother Goose Trivia game sheets. A correct answer earns 1 point and wrong or no answers get zero points. The person with the most correct answers wins a prize. Have a tie-breaker question ready just in case.

Sample Mother Goose Questions:
How many children did the woman who lived in a shoe have? (Trick Question, all the rhyme says is she had many.)

There was an old woman who lived in a shoe.
She had so many children, she didn’t know what to do;
She gave them some broth without any bread;
Then whipped them all soundly and put them to bed.

What did Little Jack Horner pull out of the pie? (a plum) or What type of pie was Little Jack Horner eating? (Christmas)

Little Jack Horner
Sat in the corner,
Eating a Christmas pie;
He put in his thumb,
And pulled out a plum,
And said ‘What a good boy I am!’



What did the cat play with while the cow jumped over the moon?  or What was the dog doing in Hey Diddle, Diddle? 

Hey diddle diddle,
The Cat and the fiddle,
The Cow jumped over the moon,
The little Dog laughed to see such a sport,
And the Dish ran away with the Spoon.

Who do you give Hot Cross Buns to if you have no daughters? (This one might be to easy.) or consider asking How many times is the phrase “Hot Cross Buns” used in the Nursery Rhyme of the same name?
