Halloween Scavenger Hunt

Each year we have a big Halloween Party, everyone is teamed up, 10 to 15 people in each group, fully costumed, and armed with instant cameras. All the teams are given the same list of items to collect, but the items are in different sequence. Each team dressed in Halloween costumes races around town for things like old cassettes, road kill, a picture of the group with a police officer, information from a sign. The team that gets all the items and does it in the least amount of time - wins. Thanks - Jodee

Adult - Costume Video Scavenger Hunt - Another Spin
Create two or three teams depending on how many participate in the costume scavenger hunt. Each team will a video camera to record the scavenger hunt and they get 2 hours (can be adjusted) to complete various tasks and get select items.
Here are some task ideas:
Go to a video rental store and find out what year the the movie Halloween was made.
Go to a grave yard and find a specific name on a tomb stone.
Take a video with a Taxi or bus driver.
Find a cop in a donut shop and get a video with him.
Go to a grocery store find out how much a specific item costs.
Go to a home of someone that know one knows and ask for a can of blood red soup (Tomato soup). Go to a bar find out how many brands of beer they serve.
Find a stranger who will let you wrap them up in toilet paper like a mummy extra points if they along with the team sings the Monster Mash on video. And so on...

When the teams get back we have the most fun watching the videos, especially the people who came to the party that didn't go out on the Scavenger hunt!
Thanks - Brian - Cleveland

Halloween Video Scavenger Hunt: Version 2
On trick-or-treat night, split up into teams, each team with a video camera and a list of Halloween characters. Each team has to hit the streets and find trick-or-treaters wearing the costumes on their list and videotape them within 1-2 hours. Example for list:

Witch, Freddy Kruger, French Maid, Genie, Ghost, etc...and any other characters that are popular during that given year

This game is fun, because it lets adults experience Trick-Or-Treat all over again...and being out and about on foot with your friends is just plain fun. Once the time is up have the teams return to the house to view each others footage team with the most costumes on the list wins.
Thanks - Cami

Adult Halloween Trivia Games
Having adults coming to the party and need something a little less animated. Consider playing a Halloween trivia game, for singles maybe a haunted dating game, for couples how about a Halloween newlywed game. Research and create questions about Halloween, scary movies, or questions about what frightens your guests. Thanks - Jim - Tampa, FL

Halloween Movie Master Game
How well do your guest know Halloween movies? Well Shannon create this game for her Halloween party. Set up different "homages" (create scenes) to scary movies and have guests try to guess (as singles or in pairs) what they were.
Examples: One of my tombstones in the graveyard read "GAGE" - the kid from Pet Semetary,
A Cianti bottle sitting next to a plate with a piece of liver and beans on it, - Silence of the Lambs
I had a guest register set up by the door for people to sign in with the name Marion Crane at the top - she's the woman from PSYCHO. If possible have 15 -20 movies represented and have the people who score the most movies - win a small prize or a gift certificate to Blockbuster.
Thanks - Shannon

Halloween Decorations -
Iced Hands.
Fill some gloves up with water and put them in the freezer. As soon as the gloves are frozen, cut the rubber off. Then you put the iced hands in your bowls of punch , the effect is absolutely great and spookey.
Thanks Charlette

Ice Breaker - Mixing Up Guests for Halloween Games
Write words that go together on pieces of paper and place them in a cauldron (or hat, basket, etc.). Then have guests pick one piece of paper and match it with others who share the same idea. They are then in the same group. For example, things like "silver bullet, full moon, howl, etc. are written on pieces of paper and these "wolfman" ideas are on the "wolfman" team. "Bat, blood, fangs, Transylvania" would be on the Dracula team. I have found that this really helps to mix up the team players. Adjust difficulty base on age of guests, if really young use different colored paper to group teams.
Thanks - Marcia

Witch Prickling Competition Game
Use an old dress makers dummy and put a ' devil's mark' on the dummy with a felt tip, then wrap the whole dummy in swathes of crepe paper, then as people arrive they will be given a pin with their name on it and be invited to 'prick the witch' - at the end of the night the witch will be carefully undressed and the person who's pin is closest to the 'devil's mark' will win a prize.
Thanks - Batty ;)
