Dirty Dice Christmas Gift Game
What you will need :
Gifts, Dice, Timer

Step1: Everyone brings a wrapped gift and it is placed in the middle of a room.

Step 2: Once everyone is seated two dice are passed to each person to roll (a larger group of people can pass two or three pairs of dice). Whoever shakes a double retrieves a prize but can't open the gift, and so on until all gifts are taken. Everyone who has a gift (some have none, some might have many) opens their gifts for everyone to see.

Step 3: Now it gets dirty! A timer is set for 15 minutes and the dice keep going around the room to each person and if someone shakes a double they can steal an unwrapped prize from anyone. 'Everytime' a double is rolled, a prize gets stolen.

Step 4: When the timer runs out, that is the end of the game. When we have very young children participating, the adults make sure each child is left with at least one prize.
Thanks Cactus

*** Dirty Dice Christmas Gift Game - Variations *** Step 2: Once everyone is seated, have guests draw numbers 1 to (number of guests) and then have each person pick a gift from the pile in order of the number drawn. 1 goes first, then 2 etc… This way everyone gets a gift. Now open the gifts

Step 3: Now start the dice and give the roller of doubles two options when they get doubles. They can Trade gifts - (Their gift for someone else's - which means it can be taken by someone else before the game ends) They can call - "Keeper" and keep their gift! Play until buzzer goes off!

Christmas Card Toss (Not sure if I would do it - I like my cards)
Get a laundry basket (round) and 10 - 20 Christmas Cards you've received this year (select different sizes and weights). Have someone sit in a chair or stand in front of the laundry basket (approx. 4 - 6 feet away). They have to toss each Christmas card and get them in the laundry basket. It's harder then it sounds!!!! The most to successfully get them in the basket wins! Thanks - Noelle

Matching Christmas Carol
How to play: Everyone brings a gift (we do Christmas ornaments in the $5.00 price range). As participants enter, give them the title of a Christmas carol on a slip of paper.

Someone else will have the same carol. Turn off the lights (optional) (make sure there is no items to trip over) and on the count of three everyone starts singing their Christmas carol and try to find the other person singing the same with the same carol.

After everyone has found their partner, exchange your gift with that person. We had a blast last year playing this! Here's a list of songs to help.

Christmas Carols
Jingle Bells
Deck the Halls
Here Comes Santa Claus
Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer
Silent Night
Joy to the World
Away In a Manger
We Wish You A Merry Christmas

12 Days of A Very Odd Christmas - Singing Required :)
Everyone is asked to come prepared with an adjective and a noun.

When they arrive they are asked to write the adjective on one slip of paper and a noun on the other. To make it easy use colored paper for one. If you have more than 12 people coming you will be fine if less then 12 add extras yourself.

Then have an adjective box (red, round, etc…) and a noun box (sock, bucket, hat, whatever). Then everyone picked one adjective and noun from each. (if more than twelve people partner or group people together. (I wrote a number on the back of the slips of paper in the noun pile)

Then we sang the twelve days of Christmas with those words....and as you progress, it gets harder to remember and some phrases are hysterical. We were rolling on the floor by the last verse. Happy holidays!
Thanks Sue Ellen

* Could use verbs instead of adjective if you wish!

Worst Gift Ever Game
This game is also a great ice breaker. At our annual family Christmas party, we ask all guests to write their WORST EVER Christmas gift on a 3x5 card.

While everyone is enjoying hor'dourves, I read each of the cards and guests choose the worst gift of all. The person who had the WORST EVER Christmas gift receives a small beautifully wrapped gift from the host.

A variation of the game is to guess who at the party receive which gift, the one with the most correct wins.
Thanks, Sandy
